Campers will have fun competitions at the end of each day. They will build sportsmanship skills through our various sports and brain-building games where they can earn points to win weekly prizes!
Campers will get the opportunity to garden with our fabulous partners at Spiral Gardens, only a short walk from San Pablo Park. Spiral Gardens’ mission is to improve community health and sustainability by providing access to nutritious and affordable produce, promoting a strong local food system, and encouraging productive use of urban soil.
Focusing on the weekly themes, campers will participate in innovative art projects that create eco- friendly, usable art that can be kept by our campers (example: reusable shopping bags made from t-shirts). Creative writing will be a primary project.
Our partners at MVMNT Dance Studio will lead campers in fun dance activities that will allow campers to exercise while building self-confidence, motor skills, and focus.
While promoting the idea of cooking food from community gardens, campers will be taught basic culinary skills.
Each camper will have his/her own academic packet tailored to his/her own needs. Campers will be given time to work on their academic goals to rack up points throughout the week for a prize.
While enjoying the atmosphere of the park, campers will be the change we are promoting to the community by collecting discarded plastic during our walk. Campers will be encouraged to become eco-activists by gathering this trash in handcrafted bags and posting zero waste fliers made during art classes.
